I was approached to transform a recently converted house of character in Żejtun, focusing on the open-plan living area and master bedroom. The brief was to create warm, functional interiors that reflected their lifestyle while respecting the home’s heritage.
In the open-plan space, I replaced outdated soffit tiles which were concealing original beams with a modern ceiling solution, enhancing the room’s character. The layout was reconfigured to include practical storage for the children’s video games, hidden within a bespoke TV unit that also doubles as an open library. The dining area was designed to comfortably host guests for both daily living and festive gatherings, while old “armarju” inlets in the thick stone walls were repurposed as a stylish drinks bar and shelving.
In the master bedroom, bespoke wardrobes with a mix of hanging space and drawers were designed, along with a clever bedside nook featuring LED strip lights to save space.
A soft, neutral palette with natural textures and colour accents brought cohesion and calm to the young family’s new home.
